I’ve been tutoring primary and high school students since I was in high school myself. My first student was a friend of mine who was struggling with English Language in Year 11. Since then, I’ve continued tutoring privately, for schools, and tutoring centres, while completing further studies.
In 2017, I completed my Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne, where I majored in Genetics with a minor in Biochemistry. I then went on to complete a Master of Science also at the University of Melbourne in the Gallego Romero Lab, where I used human stem cells to study how humans have genetically adapted to living at high altitudes.
After graduating my Masters in 2019, I started working as a research assistant at the Wells Lab at the University of Melbourne, and also worked as a mentor for a team of undergraduates competing in iGEM, an international synthetic biology competition. After working with such brilliant students, I decided I wanted to become a teacher so I can work with young people full-time.
This year I started working as a maths and science teacher at Drouin Secondary College, through a program called Teach For Australia. This two year program is allowing me to earn a Master of Teaching while giving me the opportunity to work, learn and develop my skills as a teacher in the education industry at the same time.
I’m extremely passionate about education, and I believe that all students learn in their own way.
Having individual attention catering to the student’s needs allows them to achieve incredible results.
